SIZE GUIDE

The right fit is part of the design.

Jewellery should feel considered not only in appearance, but in the way it sits on the body.

For rings in particular, a difference of less than a millimetre can noticeably affect comfort.

Use this guide to help determine your size before ordering a PRECIOUS ATOM piece.

RING SIZING

METHOD 01 — MEASURE A RING YOU ALREADY OWN

For the most reliable at-home method, use a ring that already fits the intended finger comfortably.

  1. Place the ring on a flat surface.

  2. Measure the inside diameter from one inner edge to the opposite inner edge.

  3. Do not include the metal itself in the measurement.

  4. Measure in millimetres.

  5. Compare your measurement with the chart below.

For greater accuracy, use a ruler with millimetre markings or a digital calliper.

METHOD 02 — MEASURE YOUR FINGER

If you do not have an existing ring to measure, you can estimate your size using the circumference of your finger.

You will need:

  • a narrow strip of non-stretch paper

  • a fine pen or pencil

  • a millimetre ruler

HOW TO MEASURE

  1. Wrap the paper comfortably around the base of the intended finger.

  2. Keep it close to the skin without pulling tightly.

  3. Mark where the paper overlaps.

  4. Lay the paper flat.

  5. Measure the distance to the mark in millimetres.

  6. Compare that measurement with the Inner Circumference column above.

For example:

A finger circumference close to 54.4 mm corresponds approximately to a US size 7.

MEASURE MORE THAN ONCE

Finger size can change throughout the day.

Temperature, activity and natural swelling can all affect fit.

For a more reliable measurement:

MEASURE AT LEAST TWICE

and preferably at different times of day.

We recommend measuring when your hands are at a comfortable, normal temperature.

Avoid measuring immediately after:

  • intense exercise

  • prolonged exposure to heat

  • very cold conditions

CONSIDER YOUR KNUCKLE

A ring needs to pass over the knuckle while still sitting comfortably at the base of the finger.

If your knuckle is noticeably wider than the base of your finger, measure both areas.

Choose a size that can pass comfortably over the knuckle without feeling excessively loose once in position.

BETWEEN TWO SIZES?

If your measurement sits between two sizes, the appropriate choice can depend on the design.

For many rings, selecting the slightly larger size may provide a more comfortable fit.

However, the ideal choice can vary according to:

  • band width

  • ring profile

  • stone setting

  • internal construction

  • intended finger

Product-specific sizing guidance will be provided where necessary.

WIDE BANDS

Wider rings often feel tighter than narrow bands of the same nominal size because more metal is in contact with the finger.

For particularly wide designs, a slightly larger size may feel more comfortable.

Always check the individual product page for specific recommendations.

STACKING RINGS

When several rings are worn together, the combined width can affect fit.

A stack of multiple bands may feel tighter than an individual ring.

Consider how you intend to wear the piece when selecting your size.

DIFFERENT FINGER, DIFFERENT SIZE

Ring size is not necessarily the same across both hands.

Even corresponding fingers on your left and right hands may measure differently.

Always measure the exact finger on which you intend to wear the ring.

MEN'S & WOMEN'S SIZING

PRECIOUS ATOM does not use different sizing systems for men's and women's rings.

A ring size describes the physical dimensions of the ring.

Choose according to your measurement, not the category in which the piece appears.

RESIZING

Some PRECIOUS ATOM rings may be eligible for professional resizing.

Others may have structural or stone-setting characteristics that make resizing limited or unsuitable.

This may apply particularly to:

  • full or partial eternity designs

  • complex stone settings

  • highly sculptural forms

  • engraved or personalised pieces

Any important resizing limitations will be stated on the relevant product page.

Do not attempt to resize PRECIOUS ATOM jewellery independently without first consulting a qualified professional.

BRACELET SIZING

When bracelet sizing becomes available, individual product pages will provide the appropriate measurements.

As a general principle, bracelet fit depends on both:

WRIST CIRCUMFERENCE

and

DESIRED FIT

Some clients prefer a close fit.

Others prefer additional movement around the wrist.

Product-specific measurements will be provided because different bracelet constructions require different allowances.

NECKLACE & CHAIN LENGTH

Necklace appearance depends on:

  • chain length

  • neck circumference

  • pendant dimensions

  • body proportions

  • styling preference

Where multiple lengths are available, the exact length will be clearly listed on the product page.

PRECIOUS ATOM will provide measurements in centimetres and/or millimetres wherever practical.

EARRINGS

For earrings, dimensions such as:

DIAMETER

LENGTH

WIDTH

and where relevant,

POST OR HOOP DIMENSIONS

will be provided on individual product pages.

Always review the dimensions rather than relying solely on photography, as close-up jewellery images can make objects appear larger than their actual scale.

MEASUREMENTS MATTER

Product photography communicates form.

Measurements communicate scale.

Before purchasing, we recommend reviewing both.

Every PRECIOUS ATOM product page will aim to provide the dimensions necessary to understand how an object will relate to the body.
